The benthic fish study includes bag seining, benthic trawling, electrofishing, gill netting and trammel netting.  Each of these methods is entered separately in this protocol database.

gill net:  nets are 100 ft long, 6ft high with 4 different meshes (25-ft segments).  meshes are 3/4 inch, 1 1/2 inch, 2 inch and 3 inch.nets are set overnight from 12-18 hours total soak time.  see text for details.
