COPYRIGHT, PUBLIC DOMAIN and INFRINGEMENT Agreement
In connection with submitting to the U.S. Geological Survey the text, image(s), audios, videos, and/or audio-videos identified in the
specified list, I, the provider, aver that they were either created in my capacity as a Federal Government employee and are therefore
in the U.S. public domain or they were created by me alone in my private capacity and automatically qualify for a U.S. copyright.
If a U.S. copyright presently applies to any item listed above, I agree to irrevocably dedicate that or those copyrights to the public
domain. As a result, the USGS, or anyone else, may freely publish, reproduce, use and/or distribute these creations in any media at no
cost and without temporal or geographic restriction.
If the USGS uses any of these creations in its products or services, it agrees to credit the provider. I, the provider, understand that
if the foregoing representations concerning copyright ownership are determined to be incorrect or false, resulting in the USGS or the
U.S. Government being sued for copyright infringement, I agree to indemnify the USGS and/or the U.S. Government for any resulting out-
of-pocket expenses arising from defending and/or settling such litigation.

This information collection is authorized by the Nonindigenous Aquatic Nuisance Prevention and Control Act of 1990 (16 U.S.C. 4701) [Nov 29, 1990].
Your responses are voluntary and need only be submitted once per sighting report. We estimate that it will take approximately 3 minutes to prepare and submit
the response. We ask you for some basic organizational and contact information to contact you for clarification, if needed.
In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act (44 U.S.C. 3501), an agency may not conduct or sponsor and a person is not required to respond to a collection of
information unless it displays a currently valid Office of Management and Budget control number. OMB has reviewed and approved this information collection and
assigned OMB Control Number 1028-0098. You may submit comments on any aspect of this information collection, including the accuracy of the estimated burden hours

Principal purpose: The principal purpose for collecting this information is to track nonindigenous aquatic species in the U.S. We estimate it will take
3 minutes to complete the observation form.
Routine use: This information will be used by the U.S. Geological Survey to monitor and provide information concerning the status, distribution, and potential
impacts of nonnative aquatic organisms.
Disclosure is voluntary: You are not required to provide your personal contact information in order to submit a sighting. However, if you do not provide
contact information, we may be unable to contact you for additional information to confirm and verify your sighting.
