Impact DescriptionIn its introduced range in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains of the western US, Lithobates catesbeianus was the most abundant amphibian species, and is thought to be one of the main drivers of the extirpation of the red-legged frog (Rana aurora) and reduction in populations of the foothill yellow-legged frog (Rana Boyli).
