Impact Description | Plasma glucose concentrations in wild caught European eels infected with Anguillicola crassus rose increased at different rates than uninfected eels after exposure to stress. Glucose mobilization and utilization may be altered in infected European eels from the metabolic strain of harboring a blood-feeding parasite. Therefore, repeated exposure to stressors may decrease growth and yield in infected eels. |
