Impact Description | Due to its larger size,Branchiura sowerbyi can homogenize layers to a greater depth than some other oligochaetes that are abundant in parts of the Great Lakes, including Limnodrilus hoffmeisteri and Tubifex tubifex. Its recycling rates are much higher than what is reported for any other freshwater oligochaete. |
