Impact Description | When exposed to prolonged periods of anoxia, Iris pseudacorus (yellow iris) increased production of superoxide dismutase enzymes that help the plant cope with oxidative stress (drought, nutrient deficiencies, injury, etc.). The ability to cope with and recover from stress faster than neighboring plants may enable it to be a better competitor. |
