Impact DescriptionGrazing by Ctenopharyngodon idella has been associated with alterations of water quality. The decay of these large volumes of dead aquatic plants due to grass carp’s grazing and waste production elevate nutrient levels in water, induce phytoplankton blooms, reduce water clarity, and decrease oxygen levels.
