Impact DescriptionSnail (Biomphalaria glabrata) abundance increased in mesocosms with water lettuce (Pistia stratiotes), despite snails being unable to consume water lettuce (Pistia stratiotes). Researchers were hypothesized that water lettuce (Pistia stratiotes) either increased surface area for edible algae or added edible detritus.
