Common name: Little Kern golden trout

Identification: Behnke (2002); Page and Burr (2011). Some authors (e.g., Page and Burr 2011) consider both O. mykiss whitei and the South Fork Kern River golden trout (O. m. aguabonita) to be a distinct species from rainbow trout (O. aguabonita whitei and O. a. aguabonita, respectively).
Size: to 30 cm (Behnke 2002)
Native Range: Endemic to the Little Kern River, Tulare county, California (Behnke 2002; Moyle 2002; Page and Burr 2011).
