  • All new alerts for a state. (Explain: State Watch)
  • All new alerts for a taxonomic group. (Explain: Group Watch)
  • All new alerts for a few selected species. (Explain: Species Watch)
  • or any combination of the above!

Click the button below to sign up for email alerts. If you already have a Login.gov account, you may use it to access the alert system. If you do not have an account, please follow the prompts to create one.

If you wish to stop receiving alerts, please log in and click the "Unregister" link at the bottom of the page.

This information collection is authorized by the Nonindigenous Aquatic Nuisance Prevention and Control Act of 1990 (16 U.S.C. 4701) [Nov 29, 1990]. Your responses are voluntary and need only be submitted once. We estimate that it will take approximately 1 minute to prepare and submit the response. We ask you for basic contact information to contact you for new species occurrence alerts and for password retrievals, if needed.

In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act (44 U.S.C. 3501), an agency may not conduct or sponsor and a person is not required to respond to a collection of information unless it displays a currently valid Office of Management and Budget control number. OMB has reviewed and approved this information collection and assigned OMB Control Number 1028-0098. You may submit comments on any aspect of this information collection, including the accuracy of the estimated burden hours and suggestions to reduce this burden. Principal purpose: The principal purpose for collecting this information is to alert users to new occurrences of nonindigenous aquatic species in the U.S. We expect this form requires 1 minute to complete the registration.

Routine use: This information will be used by the U.S. Geological Survey to provide information concerning the status, distribution, and potential impacts of non-native aquatic organisms to users who registered with our alert system.

Disclosure is voluntary: You are not required to provide your personal contact information in order to view alerts on our NAS Alert System website. However, if you do not provide contact information, we will be unable to notify you of alerts via e-mail.
