Impact Description- Results show that live swamp eels imported to the United States from gnathostome-endemic areas could serve as a source of infection to humans in the U.S. Three (4.5%) wild-caught Monopterus albus eels were found to be infected with Gnathostoma turgidum in their muscle, and a G. lamothei was found in a kidney.
