Impact DescriptionTilapia sparrmanii eat aquatic vegetation, and in California might control aquatic weeds, algae, and mosquito and chrinomid larvae. They might compete with sportfish for cover and invertebrate food, but also with other invasive fishes such as Bluegill and Common Carp.
