Impact DescriptionIntroduction of tilapia (Nile, Blue, and Mozambique tilapia) in Lake Nicaragua was associated with declines in native cichlid (Cichlasoma nicaraguense, C. longimanus, C. citrinellum, C. rostratum, C. citrinellum/labiatum) populations, and reductions in harvest of these species by local fishermen.
