Impact DescriptionThe Asian tapeworm, a cestode capable of being transferred to other fishes of several different orders, has minimal effects on Silver Carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix), but it can cause severe or even lethal intestinal damage to novel hosts. Asian tapeworms can be transferred to several species of native North American fishes, including several endangered species.
