Impact DescriptionMesocosm studies carried in France provided evidence that through high consumption Silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) can alter the assemblage of zooplankton and phytoplankton communities. Silver carp grazed down particles >20 micrometers and Daphnia species. This resulted in the increase of small size algae in treatments with carp.
