Impact DescriptionKilroy et al. (2009) noted changes in the occurrence of some algal taxa in the Lower Waiau River, New Zealand. Such changes may arise because rapid expansion of Didymosphenia geminata mats could lead to exclusion of some species from colonisable surfaces.
