Comments | Eurasian watermilfoil was first discovered by a Markley Lake landowner and contacted Wayne Jacobson with Jacobson Environmental, PLLC for management of the aquatic plant. Landowner is located on the South-West corner of the lake and described it as a large area. The landowner, reported the presence of Eurasian watermilfoil (Myriophyllum spicatum) to the MnDNR on July 6, 2017 in Markley Lake, Scott County. Photos were sent via email for verification. Suspected plants had 11-13 leaflet pairs-consistent with the biological characteristics of Eurasian watermilfoil (see Photo 1 & 2). The lake was reported in the EDDMaps system in July 7, 2017. Markley Lake will be added to the Designated Infested Waters list as infested with Eurasian watermilfoil. |
