Ecology: Herbivorous, and commonly found in springs and rivers (Krysko et al. 2019).
Means of Introduction: There is an introduced population in the Silver and Ocklawaha rivers (Krysko et al. 2019).
Remarks: Taxonomy is subject to revision; some authorities consider P. suwanniensis to be a distinct species from P. concinna (Krysko et al. 2019).
