Impact Description | Grass Carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella)
eliminated nearly all the submerged vegetation in a 80 hectare lake. This resulted in a 274% increase in benthic invertebrates, which was likely due to the deposition of partially digested plant material (ie. an increase in nutrients for algae production). |
