Impact DescriptionAlmost fourteen tons of Blue Tilapia were harvested from an Alabama lake (527 pounds/acre), caught on both hook and line and by dip nets. These Tilapia controlled Lyngbya sp. Filamentous blue-green algae and did not appear to impact sportfish (Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Redear Sunfish, Black Crappie, and Channel Catfish) populations.
