Impact DescriptionNile Tilapia presence in Lake Apoyo, Nicaragua, was linked to the presence of metacercarial trematodes cysts in the eyeballs of many native cichlids such, resulting in the blinding of these fishes. Only two blind cichlids were found in Lake Xiloa where Tilapia are not established.
