Impact DescriptionNile tilapia displaced native Redspotted Sunfish (Lepomis miniatus) from preferred habitat in laboratory experiments, exposing the sunfish to greater predation pressure. In addition, predators (Largemouth Bass Micropterus salmoides) consumed significantly more sunfish than tilapia when structure was present, compared to trials without structure.
