Impact DescriptionMarsh wren and red-winged blackbird abundances were negatively correlated with Lythrum salicaria density in wetlands of eastern Massachusetts, while swamp sparrow abundance was positively correlated with Lythrum salicaria density. Song sparrow abundance was positively correlated with Lythrum salicaria density when the Lythrum stands did not cover a large proportion of the area, and Virginia rail abundance was positively correlated with Lythrum salicaria density plus open water.
