Impact Description | Red-eared Sliders have been shown to outcompete Chinese native turtle Mauremys sinensis for food, basking sites, and nesting sites. Scientists have also observed this species aggressively attacking other native turtles through biting, pushing, swiping, and climbing, sometimes disturbing the mating of sympatric turtles. |
