Impact DescriptionWhere it becomes very dense in New Zealand, Didymosphenia geminata decreases the exchange between surface and ground water and the hydraulic activity, which is thought to impact egg beds (redds) of Salmonids, including Salmo trutta (brown trout) and Oncorhynchus mykiss (rainbow trout).
