Impact DescriptionResults of mesocosm experiments found that Limnoperna fortunei removed 84% of the particulate nitrogen and 49% of the particulate phosphorus after 24 hours. Nutrient regeneration was influenced by L. fortunei as well with ammonium produced at 3 µM NH3g DW-1 h-1 and phosphates produced at 0.42 µM PO4g DW-1 h-1.
