Impact DescriptionIn the Río Tercero Reservoir, Argentina, Limnoperna fortunei colonization impacted the benthic community. In L. fortunei druses, turbellarian, mollusc, leech, mayfly, and chironomid density was significantly higher (3-20 times higher) than in nearby sediments. Additionally, crustaceans and caddisflies were only observed in L. fortunei druses. Oligochaete densities were 25 times higher in nearby sediments compared to L. fortunei druses.
