Impact DescriptionThe benthic community changed in several ways after Limnoperna fortunei invasion. Snails, tanaidaceans, amphipods, and copepods increased in abundance and biomass while nematodes, ostracods, and chironomids decreased in abundance and biomass. Multiple sites with mussel beds showed similar benthic community composition, suggesting that L. fortunei homogenizes the community over time.
