Impact ID6297
Impact TypeHuman Health
Study TypeExperimental
Study LocationLaboratory
Impact DescriptionAn experimental study on the release of harmful gas by decomposing Limnoperna fortunei suggests that the concentrations of ammonia NH3 (47.9777–307.9454 mg/m3) exceed the occupational exposure limit of 30 mg/m3. This suggests that the harmful gas produced by putrid L. fortunei in dewatered areas may pose a threat to human health and safety during maintenance and removal.
