Impact DescriptionA disease of snakeheads that has received broad attention is epizootic ulcerative syndrome (EUS), which causes high mortality in these fishes. EUS involves several pathogens, including motile aeromonad bacteria. Only genus known to be affected in US is Cyprinus, but there have been no studies undertaken to examine transfer of parasites or diseases to native North American fishes.
