Impact Description | Ctenopharyngodon idella are known to be carriers of numerous parasitic organisms. See Table XXXII on page 51 for a full list of parasites. Notably, grass carp are hosts for the Asian tapeworm Bothriocephalus acheilognathi. This parasite has been introduced by cyprinids, particularly by its native host the Grass Carp, to every continent except Antarctica. |
