Impact DescriptionHydrilla verticillata slows water flow and clogs irrigation and flood control canals. Florida alone spends millions of dollars for hydrilla “maintenance control” with herbicides and mechanical harvesters; mats of it wash up on shore there, collect at culverts and clog important water control pumping stations.
