Impact DescriptionThe quagga mussel (Dreissena bugensis) has the potential to cause major costs for dams and the hydropower industry, particularly if its westward expansion continues. Colonization has already resulted in clogging and subsequent expense at the Hoover, Imperial, Davis, and Parker Dams on the Lower Colorado River.
