Impact DescriptionBluegill (Lepomis macrochirus) and pumpkinseed (L. gibbosus) declined in Trout Lake, WI following invasion of rusty crayfish (Faxonius rusticus), likely as a result of egg predation. The pumpkinseed has been shown to do an especially poor job of defending its eggs from crayfish attack.
