Impact DescriptionSzydlowski et al (2022) found a weak, positive association between Faxonius rusticus abundance and water clarity. They hypothesize that lake clarity increases if F. rusticus causes declines in small fishes that lead to population growth and decreases in phytoplankton through a trophic cascade.
