CommentsBoschung and Mayden 2004 say introduced to TN drainage; Mettee et al. say native to TN drainage; Etnier and Starnes 1993 say native; Menhinick 1992 says introduced to upper TN in NC. Can't remove this huc b/c it gets to lower reaches - I assume, if native this far up; In 1948, thread - fin shad were first discovered in impoundments of the Tennessee River (Tennessee Valley Authority, 1954)[Irons et al. 2009]; stocked in TVA reservoirs in 1940s-1950s (Laird and Page, 1996).
