Commentserror 1970 publication year (Webb, 1970) Nonindigenous juvenile alligators frequently show up as released pets throughout Oklahoma. These sightings obfuscate the status and distribution of rare indigenous American alligators in the extreme southeastern corner of the state (Webb, 1970; [Sievert] and Sievert, [1988]).
