CommentsMy team followed up on the USGS NAS 'provisional' observation of NZMS in a creek that flows near downtown Bozeman. We collected eDNA samples in August and again last week... multiple samples during both survey events amplified for NZMS eDNA. We used these eDNA results to inform observational surveys (i.e., kick samples/flipping rocks). After a few hours of observational surveys, we did find a single NZMS. We tested tissue from this specimen using our NZMS assay and it amplified.
