Comments | This is the presumed high point of flowering rush in the Spokane River watershed. Flowering rush is present downstream in Hangman Creek, Lake Spokane and Nine Mile Reservoir. Flowering rush was likely introduced by a Water Garden business in Rockford, WA in the 1990s that was located about 1 mile upstream of the highpoint.
A 1996 article in the Spokanesman Review newspaper can be found by searching Rockford Water Gardens A Haven For Pond Lovers, Pond Dwellers. |
