CommentsOn 9/11/22, I found a 15x40 foot patch of this species at the location specified by the coordinates above. I reported the sighting to Nebraska Game and Parks, because they manage this State Recreation Area. I returned on 10/16/23 to find that the species has spread 1/2 mile north to the dam, occupying much of the shoreline. It may also have spread to the west shoreline—I didn’t check. This needs immediate attention before it spreads to the rest of this lake’s shore, downstream from the lake, and/or to other bodies of water via watercraft.
