Title:Invasive carp detected in the lower Chippewa and lower Black rivers
Publisher:Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources
CommentsIn May 2024, USFWS eDNA sampling detected no positive samples in the lower Chippewa River. That August, WIDNR biologists responded to angler reports of jumping fishes at Dells Dam, but were unable to verify the species of fish. On August 27, acoustic telemetry data was downloaded, showing that one tagged fish had been recorded in the lower Chippewa River on July 21, August 4, and August 26. This fish was originally tagged in the Mississippi River near Davenport, IA.
