CommentsI stopped gathering and counting at 55 snails. There are hundreds more. Within 4,000 feet of Bear Creek, which flows to Langham Creek, which flows to Buffalo Bayou, which flows to Galveston Bay. This area was flooded in 2017 by Hurricane Harvey, which allowed the snails to follow the high water to new ground. When the water receded, they were left behind in the ponds. This is a former golf course, which was abandoned due to the repeated flooding.
