Commentsa total of 13 individuals were collected in five samples taken from the Boynton Canal (C-16) in eastern Palm Beach County between July 1995 and April 1996; and eight of these, including one juvenile, were collected on 18 July 1995 suggesting reproduction had occurred at least one time. This canal has been sampled multiple times since 1996 and no more Jack Dempsey have been observed or collected.
