Impact DescriptionIn field studies, increasing abundance of Corbicula was negatively associated with the abundance of benthic bacteria and flagellates but had no apparent effect on other protists or meiofauna. Where large populations occur, Corbicula has potential to have a large impact on both the benthic and pelagic fauna in the many streams.
