CommentsInitial finding was on 8-22-2012 by Ed Lagace who is familiar with the plant. Further recon on 8-24 and 8-27 revealed the extent of the infestation. Most of the plants floating along channel with thick duckweed slowing their progress. One location had two large mats of plants. On Sep. 5 and 14, 2012, staff removed lettuce from site by collecting by hand, bagging, and removing from area. An estimated 27,000 plants (including mothers and daughters) were removed. The site was rechecked the following week and 20 plants were collected. voucher specimen is in process of being made.; EDDMapS report
