Nonindigenous Occurrences: B. b. halophilus was observed in the Upper Manoa Valley, Oahu, Hawaii in 1953 (Oliver and Shaw, 1953) and may have been introduced onto Oahu during the 1890s (McKeown, 1996).

Means of Introduction: Stocked for biocontrol.

Status: Unknown.

Impact of Introduction: Unknown.

Remarks: Frost et al. (2006) divided New World bufoinds into a number of new or revised genera.  North American “Bufo” were placed into the new genus Anaxyrus (Frost et al., 2006; Crother, 2008; Collins and Taggart, 2009).  Scientific and standard English names follow Crother (2008).
