Impact Description | Corbicula fluminea appears to cause localized reduction of seston concentration and may rapidly clear the sediment boundary layer of food. However, there was no detectable effect on the native bivalve population. Corbicula had only been there for 10 years though, so impacts on native mussels may not be fully realized. |
