Impact DescriptionThree years after P. stratiotes was first observed in Slovenia, a decline in the native freshwater plants Ceratophyllum demersum, Myriophyllum spicatum, Najas marina, and Trapa natans was observed. This was primarily due to the dense mat of P. stratiotes that covered the entire water surface year-round, even during the winter.
