Impact DescriptionAxolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum)diets in Mexico were more diverse, and Ambystoma mexicanum occupied higher trophic positions than Cyprinus carpio or Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). However, there was high trophic niche overlap among the species, with the invasives occupying larger niche area than the Ambystoma mexicanum, indicating more omnivory and dietary specialization.
