Impact DescriptionParrot feather poses a threat to the Cape of South Africa's water supplies. "It can effectively block shallow rivers, such as the Berg, where more than 25 km have been covered almost bank-to-bank". At times, it blocks water-supply inlets, and it also poses a flooding and drainage problem by preventing free flowing river water.
